Owen-Withee too much for Columbus

OWEN – Paige Albrecht scored 13 points for Marshfield Columbus Catholic, but the Dons fell behind early and never recovered, losing to Owen-Withee 56-40 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Owen-Withee High School.

The Blackhawks (9-3, 8-2 Cloverbelt East) led 14-6 after one quarter. The Dons cut the deficit to six by halftime, but were outscored by 10 in the second half and lost for the third time in four games.

Kayla Fleishmann scored seven points and Elizabeth Manlick added six for Columbus, which falls to 8-5, 6-3 in the Cloverbelt East.

Columbus returns to action next Thursday at home against Colby.
