Marshfield girls track earns 10 top-three finishes at Rapids Relays

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls track team had 10 top-three finishes, including one victory, at the Wisconsin Rapids Indoor Relays on Tuesday at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.

No team scores were recorded.

The Tigers’ 8-lap relay team of Alexa Fritsch, Gabby Myrie, Bisola Omoba and Nikki Youngblood earn the team’s only first-place finish.

The 50-meter dash relay of Omoba, Youngblood and Myrie was among the three Marshfield teams that finished second.

Other second-place finishes for the Tigers were the sprint medley relay team of Nikki Weis, Kacie Prickett, Ashleigh Sternitzky and Fritsch, and the pole vault team of Hailey Weiler, Maria Brix and Weis.

Third-place finishers for the Tigers were the 1,600 sprint medley team of Amy Krogman, Kelly Carolfi, Prickett and Sternitzky; the four-lap relay team of Carolfi, Susan Omoba, Weis and Miranda Snortheim; the high jump team of Bisola and Susan Omoba, and Mikayla Sebastian; the shot put team of Miranda Forrest, Melissa May and Eleni Seitz; the two-mile relay team of Chelsea Akin, Melissa Brix, Meghan Padron and Dani Sopiarz; and the high hurdle shuttle team of Susan Omoba, Carolfi and Krogman.

Marshfield will be back in action Tuesday, April 12, at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Indoor Relays at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
