Columbus Catholic boys tennis team wins opener vs. Lakeland

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys tennis team opened its season Tuesday with a 7-0 blanking of Lakeland at the Boson Courts at Marshfield High School.

All seven wins for the Dons came in straight sets, led by No. 1 singles player MJ Kim’s 6-0, 6-1 rout of Mike Nienow.

The Dons’ three doubles teams lost only five games combined in six sets.

The No. 1 doubles taem of Dylan Kieffer and Tyler Langreck, and the No. 2 team of Augie Viegut and Kyle Olson, each won 6-0, 6-1.

Columbus is scheduled to play at Antigo on Thursday.
