STRATFORD – Auburndale’s Danica Harrison and Stratford’s Matt Zuelke each won two events Thursday at the Stratford Track and Field Invitational at Tiger Stadium.
Harrison won the girls 1,600 meters (5:47.04) and the 3,200 (12:20.33) to help the Apaches to a sixth-place finish in the girls standings. Kelly Tomfohrde also won for Auburndale, taking first in the pole vault (9-6).
Stratford won the girls 800 relay for the Tigers’ lone first-place finish. Stratford finished fifth in the team standings.
Wausau Newman Catholic rolled to both team titles, finishing with 144 points in the girls standings and 165 in the boys standings. Athens was second in both.
The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls were third, topped by its 400 relay win (54.42).
Spencer ended up seventh, led by Marcie Hebert’s win in the discus (114-7). Marshfield’s team took eighth.
Zuelke led the Stratford boys to a third-place finish by winning the 1,600 (4:46.48) and the 3,200 (10:32.59). Jake Griffith and Austin Cole also won events for the Tigers. Griffith took first in the pole vault (12-6) and Cole won the discus (133-7).
Auburndale’s C.J. Castellano earned the Apaches’ lone first-place finish, winning the high jump with a leap of 5-6. Auburndale took fourth in the team standings.
Columbus Catholic was eighth and Spencer finished 11th.
