Josephson shoots 79, leads Marshfield boys golf team to fifth at third leg of WVC tournament

WAUSAU – Michael Josephson shot a 79 to tie for fourth place and lead the Marshfield boys golf team to a fifth-place finish at the third leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Friday at Trapp River Golf Course.

Brandon Brown added an 84, Craig Serchen shot an 87 and Josh Berres had a 92 to complete the Tigers lineup. Marshfield’s team score of 342 was eight shots behind fourth-place Wausau East.

Marshfield moved from sixth to fifth in the overall standings.

Stevens Point won the team title and the Panthers hold the overall lead through three legs. The fourth leg of the seven-event tournament is slated for Tuesday at Merrill Country Club.
