Two Marshfield girls teams win Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament titles

WAUSAU – Two Marshfield girls teams took first place at the annual Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament last weekend at Wausau Newman Catholic High School.

The Dream Team, comprised of incoming freshmen Natalie Zuelke, Ellie Kummer, Caitlin Michaelis and Ellie Fehrenbach, won the 13- and 14-year-old girls division. The team won its third-straight Macker title, going undefeated each year.

The Final Four team, made up of Anna Ripp, Emma Fehrenbach, Alison Spindler and Alexa Aumann, won the girls 11- and 12-year-old division. After losing to D.C. Everest in overtime in the first championship game, the first loss of the tournament for the Final Four, it came back to beat Everest 15-13 to win the gold medals.
