Marshfield Chaparrals pound out 21 hits, rip Abbotsford Merchants 12-6

ABBOTSFORD – Chuck Brehm and Casey Krohn each had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Marshfield Chaparrals baseball team to a 12-6 win over the Abbotsford Merchants on Thursday night at Red Arrow Park.

Brehm had a single, a double and a home run to lead the Chaparrals’ offensive onslaught. Marshfield pounded out 21 hits in the victory as it stopped a three-game losing streak.

Marshfield scored in each of the first four innings. A five-run fourth gave the Chaps (12-7) a 9-0 lead.

Lucious Messerschmidt earned the win, giving up three runs and seven hits in five innings.

Justin Rayburn and Eric Pritzl each added three hits for Marshfield, which plays in a tournament at Menasha on Friday and Saturday.
