FOND DU LAC – Jake Limmex and Logan Arndt scored their first varsity goals to help the Marshfield boys soccer team to a 2-2 tie with Kettle Moraine Lutheran on Friday in the opening game of the Fond du Lac Tournament.

Austin Bublitz scored just 28 seconds into the game for Kettle Moraine Lutheran and the goal held up until more than 18 minutes into the second half.

Limmex found the back of the net at the 58:52 mark and 3:01 later Arndt scored to give the Tigers (2-4-1) a 2-1 lead.

Marshfield couldn’t quite close it out, however, as Griffin Hoerchner scored with 1:04 left for the Chargers (4-2-1).

“I have to complement our team in playing an excellent second half,” Marshfield coach Ron Todryk said. “We played one of our better halves of soccer. We put a lot of good passing together.

“Those two guys hustled and didn’t give up on a play and were rewarded with their first goals.”

Marshfield will continue play in the tournament on Saturday.
