MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys hockey team is out to make sure that its 6-16-1 season from a year ago was an aberration.

The Tigers are off to a 3-0 start after a 6-0 whipping of Rhinelander on Tuesday night at the Marshfield Youth and Ice Recreation Center.

Marshfield goalie Mac Alboreo had 18 saves to complete his second shutout of the season.

Six different Tigers scored in the nonconference victory.

Andy Whitman and Alex Krasne had goals in the opening period to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

Bobby Leggon had a shorthanded goal, his second of the season, at the 3:11 mark of the second period to make it 3-0. Jacob Twardowski and Schuyler Seyfert added goals later in the second and Bo Howard scored on the power play at the 12:15 mark of the third period to wrap up the scoring for Marshfield.

The Tigers play at Tomahawk on Thursday and host Chequamegon/Phillips on Saturday.
