OMAHA, Neb. – Marshfield High School graduate Ethan Finlay, a senior on the Creighton University men’s soccer team, will compete with the Bluejays in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament on Saturday.

No. 2 seed Creighton (20-2) hosts the No. 7 University of South Florida at 1 p.m. Saturday for the right to play in the College Cup Final Four in Hoover, Ala., on Dec. 9. The NCAA championship game is Dec. 11. The winner of Saturday’s game will play either Connecticut or Charlotte in the Final Four. North Carolina and St. Mary’s, and Louisville and UCLA play in the other two quarterfinals.

Creighton will play in its eighth NCAA quarterfinal after improving to 13-0 at home with a pair of home wins in the first two rounds of the tournament. Following a first-round bye, Merrill beat Northern Illinois 3-0 as Finlay scored twice. The Bluejays beat UC-Santa Barbara 2-1 last Sunday to clinch a spot in the quarterfinals.

Finlay, who has started all 22 games this season, leads Creighton with 13 goals and is third with six assists for a team-high 32 points. He has five game-winning goals and has made two of three penalty kicks.
