Marshfield JV boys basketball team beats Chippewa Falls in overtime

EAU CLAIRE – Marshfield outscored Chippewa Falls 11-5 in overtime to defeat the Cardinals 52-46 in a nonconference JV boys basketball game Thursday at Eau Claire North High School.

The Tigers led 33-27 after three quarters but Chippewa Falls battled back and forced overtime with a 14-8 advantage in the fourth quarter. Marshfield pulled away in the extra period to improve to 3-4 on the season.

Alex Strege made 10 of 16 shots from the field and finished with 20 points for the Tigers. Jeff Allison added nine points and a team-high seven rebounds, and Craig Serchen had 13 points and six rebounds for Marshfield.

The Tigers host D.C. Everest on Jan. 6.
