WAUSAU – Jake Akin won the 50 freestyle and Aaron Scheets took first in the 500 freestyle for Marshfield’s lone victories in a 98-72 loss to Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swim meet Thursday at Horace Mann Middle School.
Akin took first in the 50 free in 24.11 seconds, and Scheets won the 500 free in 5:21.22, just 0.24 seconds ahead of East’s Andrew Pitney.
Scheets also took second in the 200 freestyle, Michael Josephson was second in the 100 breaststroke and Tom Stevning-Roe was second in the 100 backstroke for the Tigers.
Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest on Tuesday at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.
