MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s and women’s tennis teams split a pair of dual meets on Wednesday.
The Marauders men beat UW-Rock County 4-2 and lost to UW-Baraboo 5-2, while the women beat Rock 3-2 and lost to Baraboo 3-1.
UW-Baraboo and UW-Rock County tied 3-3 in the men’s match and the Baraboo women won 2-1.
Janel Vantassel and Mike Solberg each won two singles matches for the Marauders.
Breann Haubert, Mike Schneider, Jared Ystad, Tyler Langreck and Brandon Herr each won one singles match for UW-Marshfield.
The Marauders also won three doubles matches in the victory over Rock County.
Vantassel and Nicole Schuh won at No. 2 doubles, Ben Resterer and Ystad won at No. 1 doubles, and Schneider and Langreck won at No. 2 doubles for Marshfield.
