Marshfield golfers fourth again as Wisconsin Valley Conference tournament continues

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point took advantage of its home course advantage to put together a team score of 311 and easily win the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.

Stevens Point’s Ryan Hofmeister and Trevor Thomas each shot a 75 to tie for medalist honors, and Colton Woyak took third with a 78, as the Panthers won the team standings by 27 shots over second-place D.C. Everest.

Marshfield placed fourth for the second straight meet, scoring 358, 11 shots in back of third-place Wisconsin Rapids.

Brandon Brown had and 88 and tied for 14th with three other golfers to lead Marshfield.

Josh Berres, Kyle Hoffman and Evan Schneider added 90s, and Craig Serchen shot a 95 for the Tigers.

The third leg of the WVC Tournament will be Friday at Wausau Country Club.
