Stevens Point softball whips up on Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – Stevens Point dominated Marshfield, smacking 23 hits in a 24-0 win in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

Stevens Point (10-3, 6-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference) scored 14 runs over the first three innings and added nine more in the fifth to beat the Tigers (2-8, 1-5 WVC) in five innings.

Heather Woyak went 4-for-4 with a double, a three-run homer and seven RBIs for the Panthers. Parris Kurszewski added a two-run home run for Stevens Point.

Nicki Hauser struck out seven, walked one, and limited Marshfield to just two hits to pick up the victory.

Marshfield hosts Merrill on Thursday.
