MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Tennis Association hosted its annual Marshfield Doubles Tournament at the J.D. Boson Courts on June 9-10.
A total of 26 doubles teams comprised of 38 athletes competed in five divisions at the two team tournament.
Winners in each men’s and women’s division were awarded gold key chains and free entry into next year’s Men’s/Women’s bracket. Winners in mixed divisions were awarded T-shirts and free entry into next year’s Mixed bracket.
Here is a rundown of the five division championship and consolation bracket finals:
Men’s A (five teams)
Championship: Grant Reckner-Scott Sikora def. Kevin Eckes-Jeff Eisberner 6-3, 6-3.
Consolation: Garry Koehler-Tom Duncan def. Bryce Gadke-Dan Bargender 6-1, 6-0.
Men’s B (five teams)
Championship: Doug Reckner-Bill Eggebrecht def. Ron Twardowski-Justin Twardowski 6-1, 6-2.
Consolation: Nick Reckner-Tyler Sikora def. Phil Golembiewski-Brian McKevitt 7-6, 6-4.
Women’s (six teams)
Championship: Elizabeth Manlick-Megan Hayes def. Holly Reckner-Renee Wesolowski 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.
Consolation: Raelynn Wingert-Haley Ott def. Kari Kollmansberger-Linda Lawson 6-4, 7-6.
Mixed A (five teams)
Championship: Elizabeth Manlick-Kevin Eckes def. Holly Reckner-Doug Reckner 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.
Consolation: Sara Midgarden-Tom Duncan def. Megan Hayes-Jeff Eisberner 3-6, 7-6, 10-4.
Mixed B (five teams)
Championship: Daley Rupar-Nate Gosz def. Kari Kollmansberger-Matt Kollmansberger 6-2, 6-2.
Consolation: Ali Luedtke-Len Luedtke def. Erin Ott-Dave Jordan 6-1, 6-0.
The MTA will host the Marshfield Open Tournament for singles and doubles players of all ages on Aug. 4-5.
