Marshfield Chaparrals crush Plover to improve to 12-5

PLOVER – The Marshfield Chaparrals scored multiple runs in four different innings and made quick work of the Plover Pterodactyls, rolling to a 12-1 victory in seven innings Friday night at Memorial Field.

Ryan Williams went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Chuck Brehm added a pair of doubles and four RBIs for the Chaparrals, who improve to 12-5 with the win.

Jake Long, Gunnar Smith and Kenny Chiu combined to strike out nine and allow just one unearned run for Marshfield.

Josh Barnes added two hits and three RBIs, and Dylan McHugh and John Safford each scored twice for Marshfield.

The Chaparrals are off until July 11 when they host Eau Claire.
