Marshfield Chaparrals rip Waupaca for eighth straight win

WAUPACA – The streak continues for the Marshfield Chaparrals.

Marshfield came back from a 3-0 deficit to knock off the Waupaca Lakemen 10-4 in amateur baseball action Friday night at Athletic Field.

The win is the Chaparrals’ eighth straight and moves their record to 17-5 on the season.

Waupaca led 3-0 after three innings before Marshfield exploded for four runs in the fourth, two more in the fifth and four in the sixth to grab the victory.

Kyle McHugh had a two-run home run and drove in four in the game, and Josh Barnes, Bobby Gregorich and Chuck Brehm each had a hit and scored twice for Marshfield.

Jake Long earned the win, going sixth innings and striking out six.

Marshfield wraps up its season next week with a road game at Everest on Wednesday and its final home game of the season on Aug. 3 against Taylor County.
