Marshfield girls golf posts strong second day, finishes second at Wisconsin Rapids Ryder Cup

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield girls golf team scored a two-day total of 572 to take second place at the Wisconsin Rapids Ryder Cup on Sunday and Monday at the Ridges Golf Course.

Marshfield shot a 167 in partner two-ball on Sunday, then had a 405 in individual player Monday to move up two spots in the standings and finish second.

Onalaska ran away with the team title with a score of 514.

On Monday, Marshfield sophomore Macy Fitzgerald shot a 96, and Janel Skaden, Molly Field and Jordyn Fitzgerald each shot 103s for the Tigers.

La Crosse’s Grace Onsrud had a 79 to edge Monica Rohe of Onalaska by three shots for individual medalist honors on Monday.

Marshfield returns to the Ridges for the second leg of the Clover Valley Golf League meet on Tuesday.
