COLBY – Colby’s Brandon Wickersham ran for 123 yards and scored four touchdowns, and the Hornets held Spencer/Columbus to 101 yards of offense in a 35-0 Cloverbelt Conference football win Friday night at Colby High School.

Wickersham scored on an 11-yard run and a 40-yard punt return in the first half, then added 12- and 8-yard touchdown runs in the third quarter to pace Colby (2-0 overall and Cloverbelt).

The Rockets (1-1 overall and Cloverbelt) gained just 42 yards rushing on 28 attempts and were 3 of 11 passing for 59 yards.

Spencer/Columbus held Colby to 235 yards, but its lack of offense and five turnovers (three fumbles and two interceptions) were too much to overcome.

Spencer/Columbus hosts Cadott at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Spencer High School. Watch for full coverage of the game next Friday night at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.
