SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team continued its perfect season in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a 3-0 sweep of Loyal/Granton on Thursday night at Spencer High School.

The Rockets won 25-10, 25-5, 25-18, to improve to 7-0 in conference play – all by 3-0 sweeps. Loyal/Granton drops to 1-5.

Julia Berres filled in for regular setter Brooke Kettleborough and had 20 assists and six service aces to lead the Spencer offense. Tara Matter had a team-high nine kills, Tynae Phillips added seven kills, and Alicia Endreas led the Rockets with 15 digs.

“We played without our starting setter (Brooke Kettleborough) and Julia Berres did a nice job filling in,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “She served incredible and did a decent job distributing the ball. The younger players have been getting a lot of time lately and you can see the experience paying off for the team.”

Spencer plays at the Stratford Invitational on Saturday.
