Auburndale’s Luke Haas, Spencer’s Donovan Fox, Marshfield’s Nolan Redetzke compete at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Auburndale junior Luke Haas placed 28th and Spencer sophomore Donovan Fox took 77th in Division 3, and Marshfield junior Nolan Redetzke finished 103rd in Division 1 as the three local boys competed at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships at the Ridges Golf Course on Saturday.

Haas finished in 17:18.87 for Auburndale, and Fox ran in 17:56.96 for the Rockets in the Division 3 boys race. Tyson Miehe of Darlington won the race in 15:51.94, nearly 23 seconds ahead of runner-up Kevin Ryan of Kenosha St. Joseph.

Redetzke finished in 17:09.77 for Marshfield in the Division 1 boys race. Ryan Kromer of Hudson won the individual title in 15:27.17, 10 seconds ahead of McKena Ramos of Sheboygan South.

Team winners for the boys were Madison West in Division 1, Shorewood in Division 2, and Darlington in Division 3. Girls team winners were Hartland Arrowhead in Division 1, Dodgeville/Mineral Point in Division 2 and Spring Valley in Division 3.

The Division 2 boys individual champ was Ryan McCoy of New Glarus/Monticello in 15:28.30.

Girls individual medalists were McKaela Christenson of Baraboo in Division 1 (14:12.65), Jamie Shannon of McFarland in Division 2 (14:38.94), and Andrea Ostenso of Ladysmith in Division 3 (14:34.59).
