Superior upends Marshfield boys basketball

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team suffered a 56-44 loss to Superior on Friday afternoon in the second game of the Big Rivers/Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge at Wausau West High School.

Luke Zuiker scored 21 points to lead Marshfield, which falls to 4-4. Superior improves to 7-1.

Marshfield led 40-36 after three quarters, but the Spartans responded with a dominating 20-4 fourth quarter to grab the win.

Marshfield shot 53 percent from the field (17 of 32), but was plagued by 16 turnovers.

Marshfield returns to action Jan. 4 at home against Wausau East.
