Stratford boys basketball team knocks off Owen-Withee

STRATFORD – Jake Reif scored 11 points to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Stratford boys basketball team defeated Owen-Withee 47-39 in a nonconference game Friday night at Stratford High School.

Travis Urlaub added nine points and Andrew Marcis and Greg Belter each scored eight for the Tigers, who improve to 7-3. Owen-Withee drops to 6-6.

Owen-Withee used an 18-10 third quarter to grab a 34-30 lead, but Stratford responded with a dominating 17-5 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

Albert Goerlitz scored 16 points to lead Owen-Withee.

Stratford hosts undefeated Auburndale on Jan. 4.
