Stratford routs Pittsville in WIAA Division 4 girls basketball regional quarterfinal

STRATFORD – Stratford used a stifling defense to thwart Pittsville 30-9 in a WIAA Division 4 girls basketball regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Stratford shutout Pittsville in the first quarter and led 18-2 at halftime on its way to the 21-point win.

The Tigers (14-9) move on to a Division 4 regional semifinal Friday at Auburndale (15-7). Game time is 7 p.m.

Hannah Schmitt had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and seven steals, and Brooke Schultze added 10 points and nine rebounds for Stratford.

Pittsville finishes the season with a 3-20 record.
