Marshfield baseball rips Tomah for first win of season

TOMAH – The Marshfield baseball team grabbed its first win of the season, pounding Tomah 11-1 in a nonconference game Tuesday at Tomah High School.

Bo Howard went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, and Daulton Varsho smacked a grand slam home run for the Tigers (1-2).

Tanner Dennis-Brown tossed 3 1/3 innings of no-hit ball, allowing an unearned run while walking five and striking out three to earn the victory for Marshfield. Jack Donahue threw the final 1 2/3 innings for the Tigers with three strikeouts.

Marshfield is scheduled to play at D.C. Everest on April 23, weather pending.
