D.C. Everest shuts out Marshfield girls soccer in WVC opener

WESTON – Marshfield was outshot 20-4 and dropped a 7-0 decision to D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls soccer match Tuesday at Stiehm Stadium.

Rae Hovendick had 14 saves in goal for the Tigers, who drop to 1-2 and 0-1 in the WVC. Everest improves to 1-1 and 1-0 in the Valley.

Kelsey Gilmore scored twice and adding goals for the Evergreens were Mali Theiss, Hannah Mourey, Elsie Thuot, Maddie Mittlesteadt and Gabi Mitchell.

Marshfield returns to action Saturday at the Sheboygan South Tournament.
