Columbus Catholic/Spencer last at WIAA Division 2 boys golf regional at Trempealeau

TREMPEALEAU – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic/Spencer boys golf team’s season came to an end with a 10th-place finish at the WIAA Division 2 regional on Tuesday at Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club.

Altoona won the regional title with a score of 336, two shots ahead of Arcadia. Bloomer was third (349) and West Salem fourth (351) to advance to the Division 2 sectional at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice lake on May 29.

Columbus/Spencer finished with a 391 to come in last among the 10 teams at the regional meet.

Gabby Curtis of Altoona won meet medalist honors with a sizzling one-under par 70.

Nick Johnson led Columbus/Spencer with a 92. Rounding out the Dons’ scoring were Ben Alt and Alex Baierl, who each shot 99s, David Schlinsog with a 101 and Dan Herder with a 104.
