Marshfield Chaparrals beat Everest in home finale

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals won their home finale, edging the Everest Merchants 11-9 in amateur baseball action Wednesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The lead changed hands four times, with Marshfield taking the final lead after both teams scored three times in the sixth inning.

Kyle McHugh had three hits and three RBIs, and Lucius Messerschmidt had two hits and three RBIs for the Chaparrals (11-4).

Eric Pritzl earned the win with six innings of relief for Marshfield. He allowed two earned runs and five hits in relief of Ryan Metz, who gave up eight hits and five runs in three innings.

Marshfield wraps up its season Saturday with a doubleheader at Coon Valley at 1 p.m.
