UW-Marshfield/Wood County volleyball wins tight match against UW-Marathon County

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County volleyball team knocked off UW-Marathon County 3-1 in a tight match on Monday night to improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

Second-year players April Martens, Amanda Hutkowski, Aubrie Bissonette and Rachel Ludwig were honored before the match, which the Marauders won 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, 29-27.

Bissonette, a sophomore from Spencer, led the Marauders with 10 kills, and Ludwig, a Stratford graduate, had six kills.

Tiffany Kitowski had 26 assists and three service aces, Ludwig had 10 digs and Jordan Mielke added eight for UW-Marshfield.

The Marauders will be traveling to UW-Barron for their third conference match on Wednesday. The final home match for the Marauders will be the Play 4 Pink event on Monday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m.
