Marshfield girls tennis sweeps doubles matches, knocks off Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield’s doubles teams continued their strong seasons, sweeping the three matches against Wisconsin Rapids and leading the Tigers girls tennis team to a 5-2 win in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

Jenny Madden and Emily Serchen won at No. 1, Olivia Haessly and Emily Seidel were victorious at No. 2, and Autumn Packard and Emily Ott won at No. 3 – all in straight sets – for the Tigers.

Kessa Schreiner and Alley Pue won at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, also in straight sets, to close the victory for Marshfield.

The Tigers improve to 3-2 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and will host Merrill on Thursday in their final dual and WVC match of the season.

Wisconsin Rapids drops to 0-5 in the conference.

The Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament will be held Oct. 3 at Wausau East and West high schools.
