Columbus Catholic boys basketball blasts Neillsville

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team continued to solid start to the season, posting a 57-34 win over Neillsville in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus improves to 6-1 and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt East after handing Neillsville (3-1 overall and Cloverbelt East) its first loss of the season.

Neillsville led 10-9 after the first quarter and the score was tied at 20-20 at halftime.

The Dons came out of the break and dominated the second half, outscoring Neillsville 16-4 in the third quarter and 37-14 overall during the final 16 minutes.

Jake Puent had 16 points to lead Columbus Catholic.

The Dons play at Colby on Friday. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and online at wdlbwosq.com.
