Marshfield boys hockey shut out by undefeated Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids continued its torrid start to the season, winning its sixth straight game with an 8-0 win over Marshfield on Thursday night at the South Wood County Rec Center.

Rapids (6-0 overall, 2-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference) outshot Marshfield (1-5-1, 0-2 WVC) 53-8 overall and poured in five goals in the second period alone.

Both Caleb Schroer and Matt Edwards had hat tricks for the Raiders. Schroer also assisted on all three of Edwards’ goals.

Tyler Gilbert saved all eight shots he faced for Rapids.

Brad Krueger also had eight saves in goal for Marshfield.

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point on Tuesday.
