Wisconsin Rapids blanks Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Caleb Schroer hit for a hat trick to lift the Wisconsin Rapids boys hockey team to an 8-0 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Thursday at the Marshfield Youth Ice & Recreation Arena.

Schroer scored twice in the first period, assisted on two of the Raiders’ four goals in the second, and added another score in the third.

Marshfield had just eight shots on goal, all saved by Wisconsin Rapids goalie Tyler Gilbert.

Brad Krueger had 31 saves for the Tigers (3-14-1, 0-7 Wisconsin Valley Conference). Rapids is now 15-1 and 5-1 in the WVC.

Marshfield’s next game is Tuesday at Stevens Point.
