Columbus Catholic boys basketball beats Almond-Bancroft in WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal

MARSHFIELD – Jared Fleischmann scored 16 points and the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team led from the first quarter on as it defeated Almond-Bancroft 54-41 in a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

The Dons led 17-10 after the first quarter and never faltered, holding off A-B the rest of the way.

Derrick Green added 10 points for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus (19-5) will play at Port Edwards (23-1) in a WIAA Division 5 regional final at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Almond-Bancroft ends its season with a 19-5 record.
