Spencer graduate Paige Johnson earns All-WIAC women’s hockey honors for UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS – Paige Johnson, a 2013 graduate of Spencer High School and former player for the Marshfield girls hockey team, was named to the 2014 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Team for her play this season for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Johnson, a freshman defenseman, scored two goals and had 14 assists for the Falcons

She is joined on the All-WIAC first-team by teammates Katie Batters, Kait Mason, Brook Story, Sam Greeley and Ashley Kuechle.

UW-River Falls defeated UW-Stevens Point 5-1 last Saturday to win the WIAC O’Brien Cup.

Johnson and the Falcons (21-4-3) will be playing in a NCAA Division III Tournament quarterfinal at 2 p.m. Saturday at home against Lake Forest College (Ill.).

The NCAA Division III semifinals and championship game will be March 21-22 at a site to be determined.
