MOORHEAD, Minn. – Austin Hawkins, a 2013 graduate of Auburndale High School, was a freshman on the Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) College men’s basketball team this past season.
Hawkins played in 14 games for the Cobbers, all off the bench, averaging 12.8 minutes, 4.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.4 percent from the field.
Hawkins did not play in the last 10 games of the season for Concordia, an NCAA Division III school, which finished 12-13 overall and 8-12 (seventh place) in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Hawkins’ season-high came in the team’s opener vs. Minnesota-Morris in November when he scored 13 points in a win.
Hawkins was a third-team all-state selection by The Associated Press in 2013 after helping Auburndale to a Division 4 runner-up finish at the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament.
