WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption rebounded from a late rally by Auburndale to score a run in the bottom of the seventh and pull out a 10-9 win in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Friday.
Assumption (3-1, 2-1 Marawood South) led 9-5 after five innings before Auburndale (0-4, 0-3 Marawood South) rallied to tie the game with a run in the sixth and three more in the top of the seventh.
However, the Royals were able to plate a run in the bottom of the seventh against Auburndale pitcher Paul Willfahrt to grab the victory.
Auburndale had just six hits but also took advantage of six walks to plate nine runs.
Paul Willfahrt had a double and scored twice, and Mason Kollross and Isaac Biehoffer each had two RBIs for the Apaches.
Auburndale hosts Edgar on Monday.
