Spencer baseball blasts Colby

SPENCER – The Spencer baseball team continued its torrid start to the season with a 19-2 rout of Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Saturday at Spencer High School.

Calvin Lenz was 3-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Rockets, who had 16 hits and improve to 4-0 and 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Colby is 0-2 overall and in the conference.

Mitchell Susa was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Alex Brostowitz and Ben Grieser each had two hits and two RBIs for Spencer.

Bobby Pilz earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings and allowing just two hits.

Spencer is scheduled to play at Owen-Withee on Monday.
