Marshfield boys golf team second at first leg of Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Taylor Thomas had an even-par 72 and Trevor Thomas shot a 74 to lead Stevens Point to the team win at the first meet of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at the Ridges Golf Course.

Stevens Point finished with a team score of 320, 11 shots ahead of second-place Marshfield. Wausau West was third with a 347.

Josh Berres had Marshfield’s best finish, taking fourth with an 80.

Craig Serchen and Kyle Hoffman were among four golfers to finish in a tie for seventh with 83s, Derek Michalski had an 85 and Ian Pillai added a 93 for the Tigers.
