Spencer baseball comes back to beat Augusta

AUGUSTA – The Spencer baseball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a 5-2 victory over Augusta in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Augusta High School.

Spencer trailed 2-0 after five innings before scoring three runs in the top of the sixth and two more in the seventh.

The Rockets had nine hits and took advantage of five Augusta errors.

Calvin Lenz had a two-run single to give Spencer a 3-2 lead in the sixth.

Matt Ivacic picked up the win, striking out 10. Mitch Susa struck out three to earn the save for Spencer (16-4, 15-3 Cloverbelt East).

Joe Meyers, Susa and Ivacic each had two hits for the Rockets.
