Whittlesey routs Marshfield Chaparrals

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals were held to three hits and dropped a 13-1 decision to the Whittlesey Reds in an amateur baseball game Friday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Whittlesey scored three runs in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead, then plated nine runs over the final two innings to pull away.

Dan Cypher walked seven but held the Chaparrals (7-6) to three hits in six innings to earn the victory for the Reds.

Ryan Metz suffered the loss for Marshfield, giving up eight runs (seven earned) and 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

The Chaparrals host Norwalk on Wednesday.
