Marshfield Chaparrals lose tight one to Eau Claire Cavaliers

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team came up just short, losing to the Eau Claire Cavaliers 5-3 in a game Wednesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Marshfield (8-7) led 2-0 after two innings and 3-2 after four, but couldn’t hold on to the lead as the Cavaliers (15-11) scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings to pull out the victory.

Zach Iverson and Ryan Hiller each had two hits, Hiller scored twice and Rayme Strey had two RBIs for the Chaparrals.

Masaki Onasee and Sam Hurt each had three hits for Eau Claire.

Marshfield plays at Waupaca on Friday.
