Plover shuts down Marshfield Chaparrals

MARSHFIELD – Ryan Williams and Howie Heinrich combined on a seven-hit shutout as the Plover Pterodactyls defeated the Marshfield Chaparrals 4-0 in amateur baseball action Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Chaparrals (9-8) struck out 13 times, failing to score against the two Plover pitchers.

Aaron Schwecke and Luke Wirtz each had two hits for Marshfield.

Alex Steines took the loss for the Chaparrals, giving up four runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Marshfield plays at Plover next Tuesday.
