Plover routs Marshfield Chaparrals

PLOVER – A six-run third inning propelled the Plover Pterodactyls to a 12-2 win over the Marshfield Chaparrals in amateur baseball action Tuesday night at Memorial Field.

The game was called after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.

Plover scored a pair of runs in both the first and second innings before exploding for six runs in the third to take a 10-1 lead.

Zac Iverson had two hits and an RBI, and Jordan Buss also drove in a run for the Chaparrals (9-10).

Plover connected for 17 hits, including three each by John Jazz, Nate Fredrickson and Paul Hass. All three each had two RBIs.

Marshfield hosts Sparta on Friday. A doubleheader against Coon Valley scheduled for Saturday was cancelled.
