ROCKFORD, Ill. – Marshfield High School girls soccer player Julia Urban recently competed for Wisconsin at the Region II U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) Showcase.

Teams from 11 states throughout the Midwest were represented at the tournament.

The girls were selected through a tryout/training process that began in July 2013. After training throughout the fall and winter, the Wisconsin team was selected in April.

Urban had a goal for Wisconsin during the tournament as it finished 2-0-2. Wisconsin defeated Illinois 2-1 and Ohio South 2-0, and tied Nebraska 2-2 and Illinois 1-1.

Stevens Point’s Justice Menge also played for the Wisconsin team and had a goal in the tournament.
