MARSHFIELD – Eau Claire Regis scored three unanswered touchdowns to down Spencer/Columbus 20-6 in a Cloverbelt Conference football game Saturday afternoon at Beell Stadium.

Regis overtook Spencer/Columbus for second place in the conference, improving to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Cloverbelt. S/C had its three-game winning streak snapped and is now 4-2 overall and in the Cloverbelt.

The Rockets led 6-0 after the first quarter and turned away two potential Regis scoring drives with fumble recoveries inside the 5-yard line.

However, Regis finally found the end zone midway through the second quarter and added two TDs in the final 5 minutes of the game to pull away.

Mitch Susa scored on a 28-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put the Rockets up 6-0. It was Susa’s fifth touchdown in the past two games.

From there the Rockets were shut down. S/C finished with just 261 total yards of offense.

Tommy Cicha rushed for 203 yards on just 13 carries and had TD scores of 30 yards in the second quarter and 14 in the fourth.

Paul Petit tossed a 24-yard touchdown pass to Noah Schober for Regis’ final score. It was the only pass completion of the game for the Ramblers.

Spencer/Columbus plays at Altoona (2-4, 2-3 Cloverbelt) next Friday.
