CHIPPEWA FALLS – Marshfield had six medalists as a result of top-15 finishes at the Chippewa Falls Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday at Lake Wissota Golf Course.
Devon Klement was sixth in 18:21 and teammate James Kollross finished seventh in 18:34 for the Marshfield boys, which took fifth in the team standings.
The Tigers had 86 points, four out of third. Chippewa Falls won the team title with 43 points.
The Marshfield girls had four top-15 finishes to place second in the team standings with 55 points. Chippewa Falls won with 22 points as all five of its runners finished in the top eight.
Dani Bender led the Tigers, placing eighth in 21:52. Morgan Irish was 11th (22:10), Courtney Brown took 14th (22:26) and Madie Koehn was 15th (22:43) for Marshfield.
Marshfield is off until Oct. 18 when it will compete in its final regular-season meet at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational at the Ridges Golf Course, the same course that is used for the WIAA state meet.
