CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield girls golf team’s season came to an end Tuesday at the WIAA Division 1 sectional at Lake Wissota Golf Course.
The top two teams and top three individuals at the sectional advance to the 2014 WIAA State Girls Golf Championships at University Ridge Golf Club in Verona next Monday and Tuesday.
Marshfield finished eighth out of the eight teams at the sectional with a score of 391.
Junior Jordyn Fitzgerald tied for eighth when an 88 and senior Molly Field tied for 12th with a 90 to lead the Tigers.
Courtney Bergum of Holmen won medalist honors with a 74, Lauren Klauck of Eau Claire North was second with an 83 and Lexi Jonas of Hudson tied for third with an 84 to grab the three individual spots at state.
Tomah won the team title with a 357 and Rice Lake was second with a 368, one shot ahead of River Falls for the final team slot at the state meet.
Ana Jensen shot a 100, Patty Jo Bloczynski had a 113 and Roma Shah shot a 127 to round out the scoring for Marshfield.
