SPENCER – Macie Weber and Abby Varsho each had seven kills and two blocks to lead the Spencer volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Alma Center Lincoln in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
The Rockets, the No. 1 seed in their regional, won 25-9, 25-8, 25-16, to move on to Thursday’s Division 3 regional semifinal. Spencer will host No. 4 Neillsville at 7 p.m.
Jenna Rogers had eight service aces and 10 digs, Marisa Johnson had six kills, two blocks and 11 digs, Jenna Schober added 11 digs, Kallie Reckner had 16 assists, and Brooke Kettleborough had three aces and 11 assists for the Rockets.
“We didn’t play with a lot of energy, but we played really solid defense,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “Everyone contributed to a nice team win.”
